In 1911 Herbert Cox became the Lacey family successor. A farmer from Chesham. Son of William and Betsy Cox of Hemel, Hempstead.
We all know him as "Cox the Saddler" .
His son Wilfred Cox kept the business going until he himself was 85 years old. His famous "Bowler Hat" was as hardy as his work.
Wilfred's son Desmond kept the business going while training his cousin Richard Hearn as an apprentice in the 1950's.
David Heistercamp (handbag maker) and Richard Hearn kept the business going when Desmond sold out in 1980.
Keith and Sandra Jeffery along with Richard Hearn kept the business going after David Heistercamp sold out in 1989.
In 1995 Keith and Sandra's son Paul Jeffery kept the business going and Richard Hearn leaves.
Sara Clark currently keeps the business going after Paul Jeffery died in 1999.
