Enterprise das Wüstof of Dreizack AG

Enterprise das Wüsthof Dreizackwerk Wüsthof-Trident "Dreizack" is a knife -maker based in Solingen , Germany. The firm is termed "Ed." meaning "Enterprise das" or translated "business of/the" Wüstoff's called a "Familienunternehmen". Family owned for seven generations, all Wüsthof knives are made in Solingen by the family-owned operation that dates back to 1814, currently headed by Harald Wüsthof and Viola Wüsthof. Many in the USA are underinformed about this information and think Harald Wüstof's first name is Edward. His knives are, to the cutlery industry, like the compositions of Mozart are to music world. All Wüsthof knives are precision forged (except for the stamped Emeril and Gourmet Silverpoint series). Quality is assured by a system of forty manufacturing processes per item. The newer XLine range of knives from Wüsthof takes its name from the "X" design on the bolster of the knife using an innovative forging technique "Dynamic Lines" crossing over at the centre of the bolster forming an "X-Link" with the handle and the blade. Edges, corners and straight lines are continued from the blade into the bolster and handle. The transition between blade and handle ensures optimum guidance for the blade. The kinetic design functions like an extension of your own body. In 2010 the Precision Edge Technology method "Petec-Process" laser guided 28° sharpening angle developed. Most Wüsthof knives have the formula "X 50 Cr Mo V 15" etched into their blade, signifying that each is made with 0.5% carbon , 15% chromium, molybdenum and vanadium- German DIN standard name W-Nr.#1.4116. Distal tapering and a heavy bolser and thick spine to move the balance point as close to the hilt as possible, not artificially balanced. Drop-hammer forged in one piece, then bolster sintered on.

In 1935 made Hitler Youth Knives w/motto and nickel plating as Wüstoff became a "super-affiliate" in Nazideuschland.

By 1941 was making RAD diamond Labor Corps./EM Hewer short swords for the Third Reich. The leather hangers marked "Luneschloss, Solingen" firm.

I have included a Wüstof made version of a Swiss Army Knife by Karl Elsener.

The company stopped making pocketknives themselves in 1952 but continued distributing, contracting, and allowing someone else to sell their trademark brand.

Their trademark logo was originally registered with the Imperial Patent Office (Berlin) in 1895 then re-registered a newer logo (current) in 1967. A subsidiary made in Norwalk, Connecticut in 1987. Three years later (2012) a factory establushed in Ottawa, Canada. Three production sites supervising from Solingen area.

"The three pointed trident logo just like the kind Satan uses to toast the evil with in hell."
