Phillipine Machete Sheath Making

This is a variation of a favorite Kampilan tribal classic.  I will show the step-by-step demonstration of how I made this machete and focus upon the sheath.

The King of Mactan and 1,500 warriors hacked Portugese explorer Ferdinand Magellan to death with "Kifing" machete called Kampilan.

His body was kept as a "tropfy" by Chief Lapu-Lapu and repelled foreign domination:

First glue canvas to the 2-3oz. leather that is cut to shape:

Then prepare the holes for the piping:

Trim carefully where the scabbard throat bends:

Cut the throat and pop some holes for rivets:

Begin to stitch it all up....

The final result... a beauty!

Time to just relax and shoot the "breeze"....
