Mostly supported by junker schools and the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (SA) and others in the Reichszeugmeisterei Organization (RZM) :

The Hofbrauhaus Rally in Munich kicked it off for NSDAP & NSKK in 1921, then based at Brown House (Munich). 

Solingen-Wald deutschen ordenhersteller, gave the "M7" centralized manufacturing. 

There were over 150 companies contracted to make HJ knives that are of three configurations.

1)Early Period 1933-1936, 

2)Transitional Period 1936-1938, 

3)Late Period 1938-1945. 

Models are still made currently with the Schnidteufel (scabbard) marked "Made In Germany".
