August Ernst Mandewirth worked within the Prussian Secret Police forces as a host supplying covert knives.

  One handed Butterfly knives and pentagraphic type paratrooper style knives.

 His special custom made knife factory was associated with a consortium of metal crafters using the acronym "HACOMPA".

 Gentleman pen knives for formal occasions with high profile Art Deco on the scales.  Important clients like " Singer" sewing machine company ordered advertising logos on folding knives under contract.

  Exotic handle materials were used on Landser style folding knives like tortoise shell and ivory.

August Ernst Mandewirth was also a razor maker using brand names:
RIZAL (1904)
LESAL (1909),
PERPLEX (1909)

In 1919 Mandewirth was in Berlin making
designs that were seized from the Directory of the Imperial Patent Office by the Weimar Republic.

He became engaged with other knife designers at ERMA arms factory.

In 1937 Nazi Reign he retained his dignity and helped to suppress political dissent making SA Storm Trooper daggers and honor knives.

Hitler Youth blades made for scouts had stout steel centered pommels.
